  • HOW TO USE CENTERPIECES ON YOUR TABLESCAPE
by A. Azuara
The centerpiece is the anchor of your holiday tablescape. It is important to choose the centerpiece first as it becomes very difficult to do your table-settings first and then travel all over town looking for the right centerpiece that will conform to the rest of the table. If you are not making your own, have your florist give you samples of the flowers that will be used so that you can choose your dinnerware, flatware and tablecloth. Follow these simple tips to give your holiday table a polished and luxurious look.
A white tablecloth gives you a great base to work from.
Layer a colorful runner down the center of the table.
Choose a decorative charger to place your centerpiece.
Placemats add to the layered effect.
Use napkin rings with shinny finishes such as polished metal or decorative stones
Make sure the centerpiece is not so tall that prevents people from being able to look at each other during the meal.
Classic white dishes will let the food stand out.
You can dress up your chairs with two ribbons to coordinate with the rest of the table.
If you have a chandelier, don’t forget to embellish it.
If you follow these tips, you will have a holiday table that will keep your guests talking about it days after the meal is over. Enjoy a stress free holiday season and take some time to do something nice for someone you don’t see every day.

11/22/2012: The table is all set up for Thanksgiving dinner and we’ll all be sitting down for it at about an hour. We’re expecting a lot of friends and family. Hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! ~ Cheers!

I caught Mia in my kitchen sink! Instead of chicken hat of shame, let’s try the gardener hat of humilliation.

What a great picture
